The Showcase

Certain pieces of fictional writing are amazing and certain pieces make me happy and because of this I want to keep some of them together somewhere, thus I call this the Showcase.  It is a collection of other writers work that I like.  If you would like work to be considered for the showcase please contact me.

This is an authors note for The Secret Diary of an F1 Wag, to avoid confusion about writing style and certain elements within this particular piece of work.

Firstly it should be noted that this work is meant to be a handwritten diary. Obviously, because I cannot handwrite all of this for use on livejournal, this is a typed version of a handwritten diary. It does not claim to be completely grammatically correct because it is not trying to be a piece of prose.
Great time and effort have been spent trying to capture the way that people think and the way they may write in a diary, especially if they only have a few moments to scribble down whatever they need to. People often think in roundabout ways, especially when they're not really sure and are just trying to talk things over in their own heads.

While I have tried to capture this within the work, there are still technical elements at work that can normally be found in a piece of prose.
Things such as ambiguity, foreshadowing and MacGuffins have been used throughout the work and have thus been interspersed subconsciously within the diary. Tenses, phrases and more have been chosen carefully to fit with these two ideas of a handwritten diary with technical elements of prose.

Finally, please take this information onboard but put it to the back of your mind when you read the work. Yes, this is in a different style to many other works but just give it a read anyway. A handwritten diary is something different to a piece of prose in the form of a diary and the two should not be confused.
